Eikon Exhibition Centre is proud to support local sport and strengthen its community connections through a new sponsorship of Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, one of Ireland’s most successful hockey clubs.
To mark the Eikon Exhibition Centre’s 10th anniversary in 2025, we began building relationships with local sporting clubs and organisations as part of our commitment to giving back to the community around us. These connections recognise the important role that local clubs play in bringing people together, developing talent and creating opportunities for people of all ages to participate in sport.
That commitment continues today, and we are delighted to announce our sponsorship of Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, supporting a club with a proud heritage, an outstanding record of achievement and deep roots in the Lisburn community.
A proud history of hockey success
Established in 1901, Lisnagarvey Hockey Club has a history spanning more than 125 years. Over that time, it has grown into one of the leading hockey clubs in Ireland, earning recognition for its domestic and European success while continuing to nurture players and inspire future generations.
The club’s achievements reflect years of dedication, teamwork and commitment, both on and off the pitch. Its continued success is a source of pride for the local community, demonstrating the impact that a strong sporting organisation can have in developing talent, encouraging participation and bringing people together through a shared passion for the game.
That winning tradition continued in spectacular fashion during the 2025/26 season, when the men's first team achieved a historic domestic treble. The team secured the EY Hockey League, the EY Champions Trophy and the AIG Irish Senior Cup, marking an exceptional season for the club.
This remarkable achievement further reinforces Lisnagarvey’s reputation as a powerhouse of Irish hockey and highlights the hard work and determination that underpin its success.
Supporting our local sporting community
As part of this sponsorship, Eikon Exhibition Centre, which is operated by the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS), is sponsoring a pitch-side board at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club’s main pitch.
While the board provides a visible presence for Eikon at the club, the sponsorship represents something more significant: an opportunity to support an organisation that makes a valuable contribution to the local community.
Local sporting clubs provide much more than competition and results. They create a sense of belonging, encourage teamwork and resilience, and offer opportunities for people to develop skills and friendships that extend well beyond the playing field. The dedication of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters is central to making these organisations thrive.
At the Eikon Exhibition Centre, we recognise the value of these contributions and are proud to support clubs that help make our local area such a vibrant place to live, work and play.
Building stronger community connections
As Northern Ireland’s largest events venue, Eikon Exhibition Centre welcomes a diverse range of events, exhibitors and visitors to the area throughout the year. Our role within the community extends beyond hosting events, and we are committed to building meaningful connections with the people and organisations around us.
The sporting partnerships initiated during our 10th anniversary year reflect this ambition. By supporting local clubs, we aim to celebrate their achievements, recognise the dedication of those involved and play a positive role in the communities of which we are proud to be a part.
Our sponsorship of Lisnagarvey Hockey Club is another step in that journey, and we look forward to developing the relationship in the seasons ahead.
Looking ahead
We congratulate everyone at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club on their continued success and on an outstanding 2025/26 season. We are delighted to be supporting the club and look forward to cheering the teams on as they continue to compete, achieve and inspire.
At Eikon Exhibition Centre, we believe that strong communities are built through shared experiences, collaboration and a willingness to support the organisations that make a difference.
Backing local sport. Supporting our community. Building connections that last.
